Bioidentical Hormone Replacement for Women
Symptoms
There are three main hormones that cause perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms: estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. As women age, their hormone levels decrease, which can cause a plethora of issues. Symptoms can begin ten years before actual menopause is reached (this stage is referred to as perimenopause). It is also important to mention that women lose testosterone as they age. Although women's levels of testosterone are must lower than men's levels, a decrease with aging can contribute to symptoms.
Some of the most common treatable symptoms related to hormonal imbalance are:

  • Hot flashes
  • Night sweats
  • Insomnia
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Irregular periods
  • Hair loss
  • Decreased bone density
  • Mood swings
  • Irritability
  • Depression
  • Anixety
  • Poor concentration
  • Poor sleep
  • Low sex drive

Why Bioidenticals?
Bioidentical hormones are molecularly identical to the actual hormones in our bodies. As a result, they are more effective and not recoginzed as foregin. They also are less likely to cause side effects. Also, since our therapy is not administered in an oral prepartation, it is not heavily processed by the liver and does not significantly increase the risk of forming blood clots, having a heart attack, or stroke, which are risks of traditional oral hormone replacement medications.

Pellet Therapy - Estrogen and Testosterone
Based on your symptoms, you may need estrogen and/or testosterone replacement. Our pellet therapy time releases estrogen and testosterone over a 3 month time span. It involves a quick and simple in office procedure where we implant pellets into the fatty tissue of your buttock. There is no down time associated with the procedure and it is painless. Best of all, you don't have to hassle with remebering to take a medication everyday.

Progesterone Therapy
Based on your symptoms you may also benefit from progesterone replacement. Bioidenitcal progesterone helps with sleep and mood. Since it causes drowsiness, it is counterproductive to use it in pellet form, because it would cause daytime fatigue. Instead, we use rapid dissolve sublingual (under the tongue) tablets for progesterone replacement. The progesterone taken sublingually is safer than taking orally because it reduces the stress on the liver that oral medication can cause.
